Simple maintenance of your Cascade swimming pool


Keeping your Cascade swimming pool in top condition requires regular maintenance. Here is some easy-to-follow pool care information to help you perform common tasks.

Filtration Medium Change

  • Periodically replace filtration medium every 5-7 years
  • Use rubber gloves and simple tools like a Stillson wrench and a crescent wrench
  • Superchlorinate the pool before starting the job

Spider Gasket Replacement

  • Replace the Spider Gasket every 5-7 years or when you notice a pool leak
  • Use a medium-sized Phillips head screwdriver and contact cement
  • Clean the surface thoroughly before applying the new gasket


Service a Salt Chlorinator Cell

  • Handle Hydrochloric Acid with care and wear protective gear
  • Soak the electrode in a mixture of water and acid to remove calcium buildup
  • Dispose of the used acid mixture properly

Fixing the Aquagenie Feeder Tube

  • Use a PVC part and solvent to hold the tube out of the way
  • Lower the pool water level to access the Aquagenie body
  • Apply solvent and press the PVC block onto the skimmer wall


Patching a Damaged Pool Liner

  • Use underwater adhesive and spare liner material
  • Clean and roughen the area around the damage
  • Apply the patch firmly and hold it in place with a sandbag if possible

Clearing the Hair & Lint Strainer
  • Turn off the pool pump and OZONE unit
  • Loosen the clear lid and remove the basket
  • Clean the basket and replace it gently, ensuring it's properly seated
